Lakeland Community College

Lakeland Community College was the first public college in Ohio established by a vote of the people in 1967. Lakeland offers career programs that prepare students for immediate employment, transfer programs that prepare students for successful transfer to four-year schools, classes and certificate programs to improve job skills, noncredit continuing education classes, and workforce development training.

Arlene & Arthur Holden University Center of Lakeland Community College

 
Several four-year colleges have signed on to offer bachelor’s and graduate degrees at Lakeland. The new program, the “Arlene and Arthur Holden University Center of Lakeland Community College,” has been named in honor of the long-time higher education supporters and local philanthropists. Arthur S. Holden, Jr. was the first chairman of the Lakeland Board of Trustees and was an active supporter and advisor until his death in 2008.The Holden University Center, combined with Lakeland Community College coursework, will offer students a convenient way to earn a bachelor’s or graduate degree close to home.

Lake Erie College

 
LECLogoS_Green.jpgLake Erie College is an independent, liberal arts institution founded in 1856. Located in Painesville, Ohio, the College challenges its students to "get in and stand out" in academics, athletics and student activities. Lake Erie College currently serves more than 1,300 students, offers a combined 35 majors in undergraduate and graduate programs, plus the option to design an individualized major tailored to career and academic goals. The College is an NCAA Division II member of the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) and home to 23 intercollegiate athletic teams.
 

Mentor High School

 
MentorSchoolsLogoLatest.JPGMentor Public Schools provides a quality education to students in Kindergarten through 12th grade from Mentor, Mentor-on-the-Lake, parts of Kirtland Hills and parts of Concord. The district is made up of 10 elementary schools, three middle schools and one high school, with enrollment of more than 8,000 students for the 2010-2011 school year. For the last five consecutive years, Mentor Public Schools has earned an “Excellent” or higher rating from the Ohio Department of Education on its state report cards, meeting 100% of state indicators (26/26). That means students in every tested grade level exceeded the state standard for proficiency in all subjects.
 
Mentor’s students excel not only in academics, but in art, music, athletics and community service. More than 400 MHS students are involved in high school music programs, and more than 1,000 are enrolled in an art class. 1,245 student athletes participate in the more than 25 varsity sports offered at Mentor High School. At graduation, it’s typical that more than 300 students will be wearing a community service cord representing the thousands of hours they’ve spent giving back to their neighbors with community service projects. Mentor Public Schools is proud to give its students the opportunity to become well rounded adults and the tools to succeed in their futures. Mentor Public Schools is also proud to be the MACC’s 2011 Civic Organization of the Year.
